Nestled in the heart of Aiea, Phở Five-O offers a genuine taste of Vietnam through its vibrant and enticing menu, specializing in the rich tradition of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian cuisine. This cozy spot at 98-020 Kamehameha Hwy feels like a hidden gem—a welcoming retreat where pho aficionados and newcomers alike can savor an authentic culinary experience.
The essence of Phở Five-O lies in its masterfully crafted pho, a fragrant beef noodle soup that captures the soul of Vietnamese comfort food. Among their standout dishes, the Rib Eye and Tripe Pho and the Steak and Tripe Pho shine with deeply layered, aromatic broths that envelop tender cuts of meat and fresh rice noodles. The large portions satisfy even the heartiest appetites, and each bowl is served with an array of fresh garnishes—Thai basil, jalapeño, bean sprouts, and lemon wedges—that allow diners to customize their bowl to perfection.
Complementing the pho are delightful appetizers such as the BBQ Beef Rolls and Shredded Pork Rolls, both crisp and flavorful, making for an ideal start to the meal. Another must-try is the Crispy Spring Rolls, which deliver the perfect crunch alongside vibrant dipping sauces like the hoisin chili blend that balances sweetness with a spicy kick. For those looking to explore beyond pho, the Vermicelli Lemongrass Chicken and the BBQ Pork Chop with Egg Roll provide satisfying alternatives brimming with authentic Southeast Asian flavors.
The dining atmosphere at Phở Five-O is unpretentious and intimate, with just enough bustle to remind you that you’re in a local favorite. Despite its smaller size, the restaurant thrives on quick, attentive service—a fact noted by patrons who appreciate the efficient pace, especially during busy hours. While some may wish for a touch more cilantro to enhance the pho’s complexity, the fresh ingredients, clean presentation, and flavorful broths more than make up for it.
Customer feedback beautifully illustrates the heartfelt experience: one diner couldn’t resist returning for the comforting brisket and round steak pho, complimenting the tender meat and richly flavored broth, while others have praised the generous portions and the warmth of the staff. Whether you're seeking a quiet, casual meal or an authentic Vietnamese culinary journey, Phở Five-O invites you to indulge in their genuine flavors, freshly prepared in a cozy, friendly environment.
I was craving pho while on that side of town and found this place. Small enough place to be ran by 2 people. Located in a busy area with lots of choices. My order came out fast. You have to ask for water and refills are sparse but I had my flask on me. I wish they gave cilantro, it would have made it so much more delicious. I would eat here if I’m ever down that way again. Quiet and cozy. They did fill and clear a few tables while I was there so it seems like a popular place.
Fantastic restaurant and experience with plentiful and great tasting authentic Vietnamese cuisine! They were kind enough to seat our party of five near their closing time! Big Kiné Mahalo and we’ll certainly be back again real soon!
Absolutely loved it!!! I had the brisket and round steak beef pho. The broth was delicious meat was tender. Fresh ingredients staff very friendly place was clean x we also had the bbq chicken and papaya salad with shrimp. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. Price was good. I will definitely be back.
Overall, good, I can't judge anything about the food too harshly, but I've simply had better. The summer rolls were generously stuffed, but I would have liked fewer noodles and more veggies. The sauce had a deeper flavor than most that I've had, which I appreciated. The combination pho came with a good variety of meats, the steak and beef balls being the highlights. The broth was solid, with decent umami. However, it didn't "wow" me like some broths have in the past. Again, while I can't point to anything specific being sub-par, I simply wasn't amazed and therefore can't give it a full 5 stars.
Tried this place on a whim and it exceeded my expectations. We tried the hot tea, and two different pho bowls (#13 & #15). Large portion of pho was served. It’s a small place but the service is very quick!
Just what we needed! Husband ordered #15 Beef Pho, and I ordered #22 Beef Combo. Pho Noodle soup only comes in one size, and that is large. I loved the broth. It's always about the broth. Thank you!
I loved it. It was so delicious. I ordered the beef combo phó. Mama was so nice. A very sweet woman. Now what the hell are you looking for? Kind of young brother get money anymore? Let my pants slack down to the floor. I highly recommend eating pho here. If you try Vietnamese food anywhere. Try Pho Five-O.
